Astor Group is present at Almedalsveckan 2026 in Visby, where representatives from the Group participate in seminars and discussions on defence, preparedness, security and industrial capacity. Throughout the week, our subsidiaries Nordic Shield Group and Oscilion are exhibiting at the County Governor’s Residence in Visby, the official residence of the Governor of Gotland County (Landshövdingens residens).
Almedalsveckan takes place between 22–26 June and is Sweden’s largest meeting place for politics, business and civil society. Since 1968, decision-makers, authorities, organisations and companies have gathered in Visby to discuss some of the most important issues facing society.
This year, defence, preparedness and resilience are expected to be among the most prominent themes. Industrial capacity, security of supply and critical infrastructure remain high on both the Swedish and European agenda, making Almedalen an important forum for dialogue between policymakers, authorities and industry.
Representing Astor Group during the week are Gabor Nagy, Emelie Agnedal and Louise Åberg, who will participate in seminars, panel discussions and meetings with customers, partners and policymakers. Some of the events include:
- On Tuesday, 23 June, at 09:00–09:45, Astor Group will participate in a seminar organised by the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association (SOFF) under the headline “Mini-NATO? Will we see deeper defence cooperation between the Nordic countries, Poland and the Baltic states?” The discussion will explore how the changing security environment in Northern Europe is driving closer cooperation between allied nations and how industry can support increased joint capabilities, procurement and preparedness. Representing Astor Group in the panel discussion is Gabor Nagy, Brigadier General (Ret.) and Head of Business Area Astor Protect, who will contribute with perspectives from both industry and defence.
- Wednesday, June 24th, Astor Group will be taking part in Swedbank’s round-table lunch, where the topic is “Collaboration in the Defence Industry – how government agencies, industry and banks must work together”. The discussion will focus on shared lessons learnt, specific challenges and possible ways forward – with the aim of strengthening Sweden’s defence through shared responsibility.
Visitors can also experience part of the Group’s offering first-hand at the County Governor’s Residence in Visby, the official residence of the Governor of Gotland County (Landshövdingens residens). Nordic Shield Group is showcasing its secure container solution – protected, mobile infrastructure designed for demanding environments where security and resilience are essential. Oscilion will also be present, demonstrating its counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solution, OutGuard. Both teams will be available throughout the week to discuss their technologies and applications.
